The Spectral Dimension of 2D Quantum Gravity

چکیده
We show that the spectral dimension ds of two-dimensional quantum gravity coupled to Gaussian fields is two for all values of the central charge c ≤ 1. The same arguments provide a simple proof of the known result ds = 4/3 for branched polymers. email [email protected] email [email protected] email [email protected] email [email protected] email [email protected] 1

Euclidean and Lorentzian Quantum Gravity – Lessons from Two Dimensions
No theory of four-dimensional quantum gravity exists as yet. In this situation the two-dimensional theory, which can be analyzed by conventional field-theoretical methods, can serve as a toy model for studying some aspects of quantum gravity. It represents one of the rare settings in a quantum-gravitational context where one can calculate quantities truly independent of any background geometry....
متن کاملScaling and Quantum Geometry in 2d Gravity
The geometry of quantum spacetime of 2d gravity in the presence of conformal matter with c ≤ 1 is the last important problem in those models which is not yet fully understood. Although it is quite clear [1] that pure gravity (c=0) gives rise to a fractal structure with Hausdorff dimension dh = 4 which becomes manifest by the self similar distribution of geodesic boundary loop lengths at all geo...
متن کاملThe spectral dimension in 2D CDT gravity coupled to scalar fields
Causal Dynamical Triangulations (CDT) provide a non-perturbative formulation of Quantum Gravity assuming the existence of a global time foliation. In our earlier study we analyzed the effect of including d copies of a massless scalar field in the two-dimensional CDT model with imaginary time. For d > 1 we observed the formation of a “blob”, somewhat similar to that observed in four-dimensional ...
متن کاملGround State of 2d Quantum Gravity and Spectral Density of Random Matrices
We compute the exact spectral density of random matrices in the ground state of the quantum hamiltonian corresponding to the matrix model whose double scaling limit describes pure gravity in 2D. We show that the non-perturbative effects are very large and in certain cases dominate the semi-classical WKB contribution studied in the earlier literature. The physical observables in this model are t...
متن کاملFractal Quantum Space -Time
In this paper we calculated the spectral dimension of loop quantum gravity (LQG) using the scaling property of the area operator spectrum on spin-network states and using the scaling property of the volume and length operators on Gaussian states. We obtained that the spectral dimension of the spatial section runs from 1.5 to 3, and under particular assumptions from 2 to 3 across a 1.5 phase whe...
